A note to jobhunters...

It is not true that there are no jobs available.
There are. The classified ads are always full.

What are lacking are applicants who have the
qualifications and the right attitude towards
work.

Good old values, like basic honesty,
willingness to learn, and the habit of putting
one's best foot forward are difficult to find in
applicants nowadays, at least in most of those
we have interviewed so far.

Unsuccessful interviewees lied, or claimed
skills which turned out to be non-existent,
came late and unprepared, wore slippers and
maong/tshirts, asked for flexible working
hours (even before being offered a job!), or
were found to have sent ghost-written, or
worse, downloaded application letters.

Those who did not get interviewed could not
even take the effort of sending a letter of
application (as required), not to mention an
original one, couldn't be bothered to edit their
resumé to change their job objectives, or,
would COPY portions of letters and resumé
from other applicants
.

And we're not even talking of actual work
competencies here. Just ATTITUDE.

You must know that the overwhelming majority
of the top company managers who will decide
your fate reached their status through hard
work and perseverance that allowed their
superior skills to be honed and work to their
advantage.

They will be looking for the same values in
their people. We know we are.
